Neither do I. He's had a very rich career, been in thrilling fights, but he's never had a signature win. He does not belong in the IBHOF.

you also forgot that he only sc****d past malignaggi and he won a SD against clottey where he got outlanded and had a far lower connect ratio clottey. Hes not a hall of famer for me, theres no prizes handed out for competing, either you win or you dont and a lot of these elite fighters beat him pretty easily to be honest, they werent close fights.

I am lucky enough to see Cotto's whole career and he provided a ton of entertainment and excitement. He took on all comers and survived that bad streak where he looked to be done against manny and margo, and he's still here. Is he the best? no., is he a hall of famer who had a great career? absolutely. he will be missed.....real raw likes this.

My boy Cotto is very underrated. It was a pleasure to have seen him over the years. I used to dislike him for no reason but people grow on you. I better chill with my "hate" for Golovkin!
Some of the Floyd haters will someday suddenly realize what they were witness to.
We had some special fighters, even Margarito and Clottey!Last edited by BoxingIsGreat; 11-19-2017, 03:39 AM.real raw likes this.

He's a credit to the sport and had a fine career but yes his legacy is overstated. He was unlucky to get cheated by Margarito and that changed his career unfortunately but credit to him he was always able to position himself into major fights.
