Comments Thread For: Arum: Spence Overpowers Garcia, Who May Not Return To 135

Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum is fully backing IBF welterweight champion Errol Spence to retain his world title on Saturday night. Spence will defend his welterweight title against four division champion Mikey Garcia at AT&T Stadium in Texas. Garcia holds the WBC world title at the lightweight limit of 135-pounds. He's moving up by two weight divisions to challenge Spence for his belt.

I think Mikey went to 140 because 135 was getting harder to make! If he loses, I expect him to drop to 140! Baranchyk and Prograis would be great fights! I could see Garcia vs. Haney in 2020! Mario Barrios on the come up too!

Arum is so full of sh/t, he is the king of catch weight fights and he is sitting here acting like this fight is a no go unless it's at 135 on ESPN.

Mikey does not need Lomo, why doesn't everyone realize that, he can continue chasing titles and bigger challenges win or lose on Saturday.

He's right. Of course Spence overpowers him and of course Mikey can't go back to 135 successfully after blowing up in weight.

Mikey beating Spence would be one of the biggest upsets in recent years.

that said, mikey has NO chance of beating Spence.

There are weight classes for a reason
