Haha, the competitive spirit in me, if I had been Vitali I'd have badly wanted to get Wlad's glass chin in the ring against me. Hell I've been trying to get my own brother to spar with me for years cuz I want to KHTFO

        I hope not...

        Far better fights at PBC.

Who could he even fight at DAZN? Hooker maybe? That’s literally it.

I think he can beat some of the guys at 147. It’s just Spence is a fellow elite level fighter. If Mikey fights DSG next I’d actually pick Mikey by decision.

Plus there’s far better options at PBC: DSG, Pacquiao, Porter, Thurman etc would all be big fights and even lower level guys like Berto, Figueroa etc would be decent fights for him.

What options are there at DAZN? Hooker and maybe Linares...

He's realized he'd lose against the top 147 guys you mentioned. He's not good enough or big enough. And those top fights disappear after a couple losses.

Much better financially for him to go to 140 and fight and win against Hooker, Taylor, or Linares and stay champ for years to come. Obviously DAZN is way better at 140 than PBC. And when Haney moves up to 140? Jesus...

Mikey's always been really good at keeping his options open, and this is a prime example.

I disagree, Mikey definitely has a tonne of self belief. I actually met him at a convention in Vegas during Canelo-GGG 2 weekend and he was so confident and fearless about fighting Spence, he’s the type of fighter who would fight anyone IMO. I think he’d fully believe he could beat Garcia, Porter etc.

None of the options for him at DAZN really excite me tbh, I don’t rate Hooker (Ramirez will beat him IMO), Linares looks to be on the slide and the only interesting fight would be against the winner of the WBSS, but then both Taylor and Prograis are free agents, and whilst it’s plausible both could sign with DAZN, it’s also plausible both could sign elsewhere.

The thing is, guys like Prograis and Taylor aren't locked into DAZN deals. Mikey could fight them outside of DAZN. Only 140 pound DAZN fighter is Hooker, and he probably doesn't get by Ramirez.

Mikey just must be getting a great deal and is confident he would be able to get the winner of the WBSS tournament.

Either that, or again, using this as leverage to get more for the DSG showdown. Maybe he's not happy that fight won't be on PPV?

Because DAZN is probably telling him that he can get more money fighting a lower level fighter than he would fighting DSG on non-PPV.
