I honestly think if that dummy Borat shut up and let negotiations proceed as normal instead of frontin’ like he has any say in anything then we would’ve gotten the fight in September.

Borat has a lot of nerve to pull that s**t after Canelo gave him 45% in the second fight and pretty much let him pick the judges to the extent that it’s possible.
How the hell can anything he said have anything to do with what Canelo does, you damn fool? Canelo didn't give him a damn thing. It was 45% or no fight. Are you scared for Godnelo to fight in New York?

How did you miss industry gossip and news that DAZN never approved Andrade for Canelo? This was an ongoing debate yet you’re confident you know the politics! Lol.

DAZN is essentially like an underground cheaper version of HBO right now, with worse poltics.

PBC has 3.5 years left on a 4 year deal with FOX which will most likely be renewed with an even BIGGER budget.

FOX has made boxing America’s number one combat sport again from a pure viewership perspective (total views on big FOX are out performing everything this year, including UFC on ESPN).

I love DAZN, yet they are actually hurting boxing with their lacklustre promotion.

What stings DAZN is that PBC on FOX and PBC on Showtime are outperforming DAZN on Social Media and Youtube as well with viewership, which is not cool.

DAZN is supposed to have the social media and youtube advantage yet they are completely dropping the ball with promotion...even though that is the only avenue of promotion that they have!

DAZN as it stands right now is literally an underground type of platform. They pay the fighters well, yet they are failing at creating any type of buzz for any of their shows on any level..even online. (which sucks if you are a young fighter trying to build a profile or brand).

This isn’t opinion, compare google trends, social media views, youtube views etc.

Not even getting into the meat of actual viewership.

The whole GGG/GBP/DAZN/CANELO/DEREVYANCHENKO situation more about ego’s than boxing. Everyone (except Chenko) is on the ‘same side of the street’ yet there is still bullshh#t politics going on.

GGG wants Canela fight. GBP/Canela don’t want to entertain that fight for whatever reason?

GBP/Canela decide he won’t be fighting on Sept date with dubious reasoning behind it...could have something to do with flexing power at DAZN

GGG thinks he’ll fight Munguia on Canela’s Sept date. No - Munguai is signed with GBP, so they ain’t sacrificing their prospect - err i mean champion to GGG.

GGG thinks ok, i’ll fight Derevyanchenko for the abc title. No again, now Canela has decided he will fight Deverychenko for abc title, shutting Golovkin out.

Neither GGG or Canela want to fight Andrade, but this is unfortunately standard hi risk/low reward we are all familiar with. Andrade seems to go quiet when GG and Canelo don’t have a fight scheduled - like now.

GBP announce that Munguia might fight Vargas on Sept date, shutting GGG out from taking that weekend.

DAZN know GBP definitely ain’t going to PBC and unlikely they go to ESPN and work with Bob, so they are trying to flex their muscle but getting met with resistance.

I know Canela is the biggest draw at moment but like Bob Dylan said ’you gotta serve somebody’

          Thoughts?
... in case DAZN flops, GBP (and Canelo) may join ESPN... The problem with Canelo is that he would have to go back to PPV fights (as he would lose his huge DAZN contract)...

I don’t think this would be a problem. Canelo can still do huge PPV numbers, especially with the promotion ESPN would give. It would be the type of exposure Canelo has never received before (10x bigger than what HBO used to do).

              yes...

... DAZN's bubble was based on the assumption that they were able to turn the "illegal ******ing" into a successful "paid ******ing service" over a very short period of time...

... Neither do I... But, anyway, I can't see Canelo easily making $35 million per each fight in the years to come... (the "DAZN contract" was simply huge...)

I guess that’s why we are getting a pissing contest right now. Canelo won’t buy out his contract for that much money, and given he only fights twice a year DAZN know he will be around for a few years yet. It appears DAZN are not meeting their original expectations in terms of subscriptions, so they want their biggest star to help with this. Canelo thinks he can piss further than dazn because no one forces him what to do.

I'm sure GGG will be fine with or without Canelo. He's not even pushing for it. He just made $14 million fighting a nobody. Ten times more than he made fighting Jacobs. Do you really think he still cares whether another rematch with Canelo happens or not? He's probably laughing his ass off realizing he can be a scam artist without being seen as such.

... right... of course that GBP and Canelo can't buy out the DAZN contract(s) (which is/are "complex" -- i.e. Canelo + GBP fighters)...

... but GBP and Canelo may try to stall as long as it takes in order to make DAZN fail on the market... (don't forget: actually, Canelo is "the product that sells", and not the DAZN "******ing service")...
