SCORECARD: After replaying GGG-SD, I have it 7-5 GGG. Not as close as first thought.

So having replayed the fight with a cool head, objectively, and knowing that SD's cut was caused by a left hook from GGG, and not a clash of heads which was keeping me distracted throughout the fight due to a potential stoppage and scorecard controversy, I scored the fight for GGG, with 7 rounds to 5.

SD was very active but many of his punches were missing or hitting gloves and elbows, something I did not realise when watching it live. It was a very worthy performance by SD, but he did not win the fight.

True. Now imagine Golovkin was healthy. Kudos to SD for a great fight but a healthy GGG stops Sergei late.

I am not at all a GGG fanboy, and I have absolutely nothing against SD.

There were 2 rounds I found extremely close and hard to judge, so I gave one to SD and one to GGG to be fair.
Had I given both to SD, it would still be 6-6, and a 114-113 victory for GGG due to the knockdown.

I don't see how you could give more than, at best, 6 rounds to SD.

But since you make those claims, how did you score it?

I think 6-6 in rounds is fair. It just doesn’t seem right that Golovkin won 7 IMO. 6-6 or 7-5 SD so a one point fight either way.

“Robbery” cries are pathetic but not unexpected. These “fans” you already know who’s going to score fights a certain way. Their “guy” never loses a close one or their “enemy” never wins a close one. Go figure..

I had it 114-113 for SD. There were a lot of close rounds that could have gone either way.

I'm gonna rewatch it and see if I feel the same way.
