Comments Thread For: Hearn: Smith, Saunders Not Satisfied With Offers For Canelo

Eddie Hearn, promoter for super middleweight world champions Callum Smith and Billy Joe Saunders, says his boxers have not received satisfactory offers to face Mexican superstar Canelo Alvarez. Canelo is scheduled to return on May 2, as part of Cinco De Mayo weekend, but he doesn't have a dance partner for the date.

These bums aint satisfied with 12 mil to fight Saul. Must be fear of taking a L then. Alot of big talk from these guys but when it's time for the show down they wont be there.

Good for the Brits, they are doing what they should be doing. Canelo needs a name and every promoter is twisting his testes for more of that Tecate and tamale money.

The interesting thing about Hearns comment is that he sold Andrade and Saunders on getting the Canelo fight if they signed up with him. He also tried to sell that same dream to Charlo when the supposed 7 million was offered. Canelo marches to the beat of his own drum so Smith and Saunders should move up in weight to seek new challenges. But who can blame Smith aand Saunders with DAZN just throwing around money like they are? Why shouldn't they cash in?

Reading comprehension problems judging by some of the posts here. Jacobs got 12 mill, setting a precedent... in other words, the market rate that Hearn references. He goes on to say they are willing to fight for less than the market rate. So, a little less than 12 mill. But it sounds like Golden Boy are currently baulking at that amount. So rather than being these 'bums' not being satisfied with 12 mill, it's the opposite. They would be satisfied with something less but in that ballpark and, presumably, would be delighted to fight for 12 mill.

Trying to arrange the best deal available hardly makes them bums or afraid. It makes them not mugs.

Gotta take short money in order to be great.. If Callum Smith or BJs believed in their talent and skill, They would take the short money instead of looking for a cash-out Payday..
