Comments Thread For: Crawford: I Done Called Out The Top Welterweights; No Need To Do It No More

LAS VEGAS Terence Crawford can't see the need to keep saying what he assumes boxing fans and potential opponents already know. Crawford wants to fight the sport's top welterweights to prove that he is the class of the 147-pound division. The unbeaten WBO champion isn't certain the feeling is mutual in each case, but Crawford recognizes he can strengthen his welterweight legacy by boxing the likes of Errol Spence Jr., Manny Pacquiao, Danny Garcia and Keith Thurman.

Refused to negotiate with Keef, then did the same outrageous ask for Manny.

Lowballed Swift, then overpaid Khan to take a low blow.

Told Porter to wait and (per Arum) refuses to fight Porter.

Asked for an unreasonable $10 million guarantee to fight Spence (per Arum).

You DON'T want to fight them. You want to cash out.

lets give it up for the p4p number 1 fantasy fighter in the world, ive never seen this guy lose a fantasy fight yet ive never seen him in with what i'd consider a top 5 fighter in his current division or world class fighter in his whole career. guess him winning fantasy fights and hiding behind arum is all that matters

I agree with 'Bud' P4P #1. Terence Crawford. The PBC topic gets old, lazy journalist need to ask him about how many times does he ( Terence ) want to defend the WBO welterweight-title.

Terence Crawford, has just moved up to 147 and has already have the same amount of title defenses as Errol Spence ; two of Spence defenses were against little Mickey and Carl Ocampo, and these haters are talking about 'Buds' resume?!

Ask tha champ, how long does he think he can hold the P4P #1. spot. Lets get some real substance behind the narrative, these reporters need to step their game up, I'm bored as F.

If they're not going to let Crawford go, they should at least talk to Shawn Porter! Sure it's gonna cost, but I can't see why ESPN would not be interested in that! Porter is a legit Top 5 WW opponent, something that we've never seen in the ring with Crawford:

                November 17, 2020

SHAWN PORTER’S SURPRISING TAKE ON CRAWFORD-SPENCE, IF IT EVER HAPPENS

Although Porter (31-3-1, 17 knockouts) is the WBO No. 1-contender, he doesn’t feel a fight with Crawford is imminent and believes he’ll likely go in a different direction.

“I’m going to see how things shake out with Errol Spence Jr. and Danny Garcia (on December 5),” Porter said. “I think that is more than likely going to happen.

“I don’t foresee a fight between myself and Terence Crawford anytime soon. I don’t think that’s the route Top Rank wants to go, but I am the mandatory for the WBO title.”

The fight everyone wants to see at welterweight, and one of the most anticipated in all of boxing, is a meeting between Crawford and IBF/WBC counterpart Spence Jr.

Porter would like to see his two rivals meet, but feels one has a clear advantage.

“I think that’s a fight Terence Crawford would win,” said the recently turned 33-year-old. “I think Terence Crawford has got more in his arsenal than Errol Spence Jr. I think he’s a better athlete and a better fighter. I think he’s got more dog and more fight in him. I can’t see Terence Crawford stopping Errol Spence Jr. I do see it being a very good fight.”

However, he would be only too happy to trade blows with Spence Jr. in a rematch or against Crawford for the first time.

“I would love a fight with either guy,” he said. “We’ve already seen what happens with myself and Errol Spence Jr. I think a fight with Terence Crawford would be extremely exciting as well.

“I’m a hybrid, I can box and punch and with my movement that would be hard even for someone like Terence Crawford to manage. He’s been able to manage every guy he’s been in the ring with to this point, but I think there’s some things I could present that would make it a very hard night for him.”

Bud says the Spence fight doesn’t happen unless it’s 60/40 his way! If spence KO’s Garcia it goes his way 50/50 now
