My current boxing gloves are really bad, so I am searching for new ones. But I have one problem: I cant make a good fist with the gloves I tried at my gym.

Boxing gloves problem!

I can kind of see what you mean when punching with your fingers. But I think it may be because the gloves don't fit your wrist properly. I have experienced this. The glove just doesn't tighten around your wrist properly so it kind of pushes your hand down if that makes sense. This can make your firm a bit odd at times. But as for making a fist the padding shouldn't be a problem provided you wrap your hands properly. When they are wrapped right the wrap should tighten when you clench your fist and help keep it tight. The wraps keep your joints from going all over the place when you punch. Believe me when I learned how to properly wrap them my form immediately improved and my joints never felt uncomfortable again

Proper hand wrapping will be the difference...i know exactly what you are talking about..sometimes it seems like you can not make a tight fist in new gloves until you break them in..and in a fight the tape around the wrist also make a huge difference
