    Recurring Lower Right Back Pain

    I never used to do this but now I want to do this exercise consistently. Been doing this exercise for about 1 year now.

    For the life of me I cant decide if its better to do with back or chest.

    What do you prefer?

        Had lower back pain for yrs as well reading shredog and stretched out a muscle I never knew I had man some difference .

        The other is stretch your quadratus lumborum (back muscle on side of erector spinae) on the rear side especially.

          Try to change your doctor, and don't push yourself in workout while you have a pain. There are certain treatments available by which it can be treated. Care is the main thing to focus on.

            I had it for yrs just woke up with a dull ache and a quick stretch of the quadratus lumborum and it's gone already .

              The pain could be due to nerve irritation or compression in your lower back, potentially from muscle strain or an issue like sciatica. It improves with rest, but training may be aggravating it. I recommend trying physical therapy to strengthen the muscles supporting your back, along with stretching to improve flexibility. Focus on proper form during training and consider reviewing your technique to avoid further strain. If the pain persists, seeing a specialist like a chiropractor or orthopedic doctor for a more thorough evaluation might help.

                A chiropractor is not a medical specialist. They have a couple of years training, about like a registered nurse. An orthopedist is a specialist.

                That said, I would give chiropractors first shot. If it works it works, and you should know quickly. A mushed disc they cannot cure. That will require an orthopedic surgeon to eliminate with surgery and then usually fuse the afflicted vertebrae together, though a laminectomy is something they might opt for. Depends on the condition of the remains of the disc. Good luck, I have been through the whole process, but for neck vertebrae C6 and C7.

                    I'm just getting this here and there now but I'm 40, at 17 I would take hard bumps jumping from roof top to roof top, a bad spill after jumping off moving trains and would get up fine. TS is just fragile.

                      This could be related to your SI joint, a tight piriformis, or even a lumbar disc issue. If it improves with rest but returns after training, there’s likely an underlying imbalance or mobility issue. Nerve damage is possible, but two years is a long time to rely on rest alone. I’d suggest seeing a physical therapist or even looking into a who can assess your movement and alignment. Core and glute strengthening, mobility work, and possibly imaging like an MRI could help get a clearer picture. Don’t just wait it out—there are definitely steps you can take to get lasting relief.
