I understand that, but take a look at the post I commented on. He says "the ideal bodyweight for this height is 190," as if that is somehow the norm. I say if you're 5'9" and anywhere near 190, you're either really muscular, or chubby to the point of being fat. In neither case can you be categorized as "underweight." I know Americans are generally the fattest people on the planet, but claiming less than 190 at 5'9" is underweight is just ridiculous...

Indeed. Most people I know that are around 5'9" are about 150 lbs. I think 190 is average for guys about 6'1" or somthing.

Not real happy with my weight.

I'm 5'9 3/4" and about 170-175 walking around. I feel like I'm not big enough to be competitive as a brawler at middleweight, and I'm not skilled enough technically to outbox someone who would have the height and weight advantage if I fought at Light Heavyweight. I intend to spend the winter packing on some muscle, or trying, while continuing to box. I think with a thicker back, neck, and stronger legs, at 180-185 walking around and fighting at 178, I'll be far more effective as a brawler. I'll be adding bridges and a neck harness routine to my current weightpile menu of deadlifts, squats, and cleans, and upping the protein big time. Meanwhile, I need to learn how to box. Spent last night's sparring session just slipping and countering hooks for an hour, trying to find my feet.

Im just a little chubby, with a fair amount of muscle. At 5'3 130 pounds, I'll probably losing some weight since I started class though. My ideal weight is around 115 - 120

My brother is 6'3 220 and he wants to be around 200 even tho hes got almost zero body fat.
