    [PLEASE HELP] Recommend me a good RTS please.

    Something current, I grew up with ATG's like AOE II-III, Waracraft I-II-III, Starcraft, Age of Mythologies, and very sparingly, the first Command and Conquors.

    I haven't palyed Starcraft 2, but I am reluctant to pay for it until I know I really want to.

    I have seen AOEHD is out, but other than that and Starcraft 2, what else is out there? I miss some goold old fashioned RTS, boxing sims are awesome, I love a good madden or nba2k game once in a while, FPS are fun as well, and I have no time for stuff like mmorpgs right now so I am trying to keep it non-time-sink-y.

    Any suggestions?

        wow, i just searched it up.. it was a game i played when i was growing up, now thats not too long ago at all but i was wrong you still have to fcking pay for the game.

        how could i forget... if ur gonna pay for 1 also look into

        any of the "worms" games, hella fun to play

        and my fav of the past few years

        fat princess. i was obsessed with that game

          also u mention the non-time sinky part lol... be careful. there was a dude who played starcraft like 50 hours straight. like mmorpgs, this **** could get addicting, so u gotta watch out before u end up a sucker paying for all kinds of **** lol

              Company of Heroes is badass. Haven't played the sequel, but the original is awesome.

              And obligatory mention for the Civilization and the Total War series as well.

                C&C Red Alert 2. Played loads of RTS games and nothing comes close.

                  If you want to play something old school and simple try Dune 2000

                  It was very good in its time (well that just my opinion)

                    CoH 1 was AWESOME. I loved that it was so simple yet you could still get great games out of it. It's simplicity and overall well-designed game mechanics just made it a hit. RelicOnline was pretty terrible to be fair though. CoH2 is horrible, I played it when it was free for 2-3 days and they ruined a lot of what made CoH great. It's just a visual improvement and even that isn't great, the camera just feels awkward, everything else is worse.

                    The new Total War is really buggy from what I've heard. Looks pretty good if you are into those type of games, I just never enjoyed it for some reason. I've only played Civ2 and it was pretty awesome at the time.

                    My favourite RTS have to be AoE2, Rise of Nations or CoH. SC2 is good if you like WC3 or the original but it's very complicated and the skill cap is really high, not really worth playing if you don't want to invest a decent amount of time getting good at it to be honest. The rest I mentioned can be played casually and the learning curve was really that high.
