Either way a muscular no9. I think against good teams that false 9 doesn't quite work because you need a fixed focal point to make the ball stick when your under pressure and all the good teams play that pressing game.

If we played Pedro, Hazard, and Willian against Liverpool there is no doubt in my mind that they wouldn't do anything. Just stick Costa on Lovren and let him terrorise him. Lovren isn't near good enough to cope with him.

Yeah that's the thing with the false 9. If clubs just hang back, there's only so much indirect play you can play before neutralizing your own attack.

But with Sanchez. He's not really a false 9. He plays alone at the top for Arsenal and is still on pace with Costa for top goal scorer. Even then he gets neutralized in games and Giroud comes on to help.

Icardi though is another Argie. He's a classic poacher too. So him, I don't think it would be long before people get frustrated and think he's a flop.
