You reckon that Messi is having more fun in Miami than he was a PSG?

That Jackson fella looked decent against us… looked like a player who could get a few goals on his day. Has he been ****e since?
Tbf though there’s a severe lack of top level strikers in football these days. Apart from the few elite strikers like Haaland, Mbappe, Darwin, Jota, Origi etc who else is there? The 9 is a bit of a dying position in football these days
Can't score. Probably wont score more than 8 league goals max.
Maybe if he can go on Drogba-esque career arc.
As good as he was in general against Liverpool anyone on that Liverpool forward line would have scored at least two of his chances.
Chelsea scouting have sincerely underestimated that scoring is just an instinct. Like a boxer who can punch. There is nobody at Chelsea I'd back to score a 1 on 1 maybe 3 game a season man Reece James.
The only player who really blew up who I didnt expect it at Chelsea was Salah. Salah did have chances at Chelsea but was Mudryk-terrible.
Chelsea used to sign players who scored who were wildly panned even by Chelsea fans.
Kalou? Even he scored 60 goals for Chelsea, Malouda 45, Pedro 40 odd. All at around 1 to 3.5 games.
Mudryk, Madueke and Palmer. I expect them to score 2 goals between them over the next 40 games.
Nkunku likely would have scored goals but in terms of pure numbers. Chelsea are going to be right down there in the table.
Liverpool was positive but since then they have been typically poor. They can't score and they won't all of a sudden start scoring. Billion pounds or not it looks like the weakest Chelsea squad since 1995 in relative terms to me. Most teams are good. We are fielding an u-21 team marshalled by a 94 year old centre back.Last edited by Sparked_26; 09-12-2023, 06:13 AM.

International football is lifeless but..
Japan are smashing some established nations these days. The world cup they were unlucky really.
I do think European footy is pretty stale now - the better teams are just watered down versions of the best team. The next tactical innovation probably comes from outside what is football's heartland. I don't find South America convincing and Argentina's world cup win was somewhat of a fluke.
I saw Luxembourg under 21's play out from the back 3 nil down in the 88th minute. The keeper rolling the ball across his 6 yard box to a centre back.
Games' gone, Geoff.
Something will arrive that blows that out of the water eventually. Which is good because, for me, it is the worst football.
All Chelsea games look the same but then again ALL games look the same. The only risks taken are those closer to their own goal than there opponents. The one hope of most teams is to catch someone who takes a poor touch close to their own goal and work from there.
Someone should stick 5 up front.
The only team in England's top flight that plays differently is Liverpool and maybe Spurs but I haven't watched them yet.
Probably tells a story that Chelsea's only watchable game was against Liverpool. The rest was structured, turgid, drossLast edited by Sparked_26; 09-12-2023, 10:45 AM.
