Reina has made some pretty bad mistakes that have cost us important games. But overall he's a great keeper, one of the best in the PL.

            Jamie Redknapp quotes

"Roy Hodgson has never worked with top, top players."
            - Redknapp with a withering verdict of (among others) Javier Zanetti, World Cup finalist Gianluca Pagliuca and 81-times capped Italy legend Giuseppe Bergomi ?just three players the current Liverpool boss handled as he guided current European champions Inter to the final of the UEFA Cup in 1997.

"Xabi Alonso was sensational spreading the ball to Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard that day."
The only problem, of course... well, it's only minor issue really but a certain Spaniard DIDN'T EVEN RUDDY PLAY in the game due to injury.

"Steven Gerrard makes runs into the box better than anyone. So does Frank Lampard."

            - Beyond the obvious lunacy of this statement, the Chelsea midfielder's appearance is interesting. Behind 'literally' and 'top, top' (see also: 'triffic, triffic'), 'Frank Lampard is Redknapp's third favourite phrase/name drop. As in "when I spoke to Frank this morning..."

"I'll be honest, I know nothing about him."

            - Redknapp's thoughts on AC Milan's Alexandre Pato ?already by then a Brazil international and renowned rising star ?in November 2009. It's a good job Redknapp isn't paid for his insight into professional football. Oh, wait...

"How old is he, 36, 37? Still a top footballer, isn't he?"

            - On Nwankwo Kanu, who, at the time, had just turned 31. To be fair on Redknapp, this one is actually quite understandable.

              Looks like a real talent.

Giovani Dos Santos' agent has denied that the player is bound for Italy after links with Serie A sides Milan and Genoa.

The Tottenham winger is not set to be an automatic starter at the club, however manager Harry Redknapp is likely to give the Mexican international more opportunities after good performances at this summer's World Cup.

Dos Santos also came on as a substitute in Spurs' goalless draw with Manchester City on Saturday, demonstrating that Redknapp still sees a future for the player at the club.

Lodovico Spinosi, the 21-year-old's representative in Italy quashed the rumours, but stated that if the right offer came in the player would consider a move.

"At this time, neither Genoa nor Milan are close to him. We talked with the sporting director of Genoa and he told us that Giovani is a very interesting player but is currently not a priority," Spinosi told Calciomercato.it.

"As for Milan, I understand that they are interested in his brother, Jonathan, but he will remain at Barcelona.
                Considering options

"Until last season Spurs wanted to sell Dos Santos but now Redknapp understands his value. However I think if the right offer came, the club could satisfy the desire of the player.

"He always dreamed of Italy. I spoke recently with his father who has become his new agent and he said that (Giovani) would move to Italy over less than sensational, non-negotiable offers from other nations.

"The price? Tottenham did not have financial problems and will not consider the loan. There are only two weeks (to the end of the market), but I think with 5-6 million something could unlock. One thing is sure, the guy is followed in Italy."

Agree, he is one of the better GK's in the league, just massively overrated by the general football public.
