I'd love to keep Rooney but at the same time it wouldn't be the worst think in the world if he left. I rate him highly and would love him to stay and regain his form. But at the same time it sounds like we can get ?0 million plus a good striker like Benzema from Madrid, we could buy Wesley Sneijder with that money and sort out the Scholes retirement problem.

Rooney looks terrible right now and it will take him at least half a season before he gets any sort of title winning form back. Plus if he goes to Madrid he's going to be bench warming because Ronaldo and Higuian are class and in form it seems, he wouldn't be a threat to us in the Premier League unless he went to City, but i don't think he would do that and even if he did i think United would be smart enough to demand Tevez back along with the deal which would most likely scupper that deal.

The reason i would sell him mostly is because the money would sort out our central midfield which is our main issue right now NOT Rooney's form imo. Plus i think we have seen Rooney's best season already, no way is he topping last seasons acheivements.

HOWEVER, i do think the papers have taken a tiny story and just blown it out of proportion, i don't think Rooney really wants to leave England and it's probably just part of the new contract negotiation process to get more money.
