He played really bad under the pressure yeah. Had a bad match.
But it doesn't change my perspective on Wes Brown much.
I mean he was being attacked directly with little or no help.
That's not his game......he's not a pacy defender at all.
He was forced to try and match footspeed with the Brazilians.
True, he's more of a center back nowadays rather than a right back, but he will never get that position for club or country unless there are a lot of injuries.
He might have played a bit better were he playing alongside Ferdinand rather than Upson.
But Shawn Wright Phillips was shocking. He lost the ball so many times, rubbish passing, didn't take on defenders enough which is what he is good at.
Our strikeforce was fairly crap too but i think that was due to the lack of service from the midfield. Feed balls into Rooney, Bent or Defoe properly and they will get you goals.
