An Elizabeth man stopped by police for jaywalking was arrested Wednesday in Morris Plains after a driver's license search revealed an active traffic warrant, according to borough police.

They detained him, they searched his DL found a warrant, then arrested him. They didn’t just arrest him for the warrant like they knew he had it.

The cops job is not to assume someone may be a criminal. They are not trained to do that. They are to handle the situation using the required amount force.

Cops pull their gun when arresting someone with a warrant for murder. Not when someone has a warrant for a parking ticket. Again, having to explain this to you is mind boggling.
