        Damn thats a tough one.

        Off the top of my head Les has had some more memorable bass lines.

        P-Nut from 311 stands out for me too.

        For those genres anyway.

              i prefer flea (though i dont really like his band, if that makes any sense at all. they were pretty cool when they played funk, but their pop turn did nothing for me.)

              i'd say that claypool is a "better" bassist. he's the more complete muscian. he's more technical. he can do more. he's brought more to bass playing

              i'm not as much into primus as i was in my teens, but they have a couple of decent albums that are almost completely claypool driven. they also have terrific drummers consistently. i could tell you their names ten years ago. today i cannot.
