Has there ever been a remake that was better than the original film?

Is that really considered a remake though. I think they referenced the first one and everything?

though its not necessarily better, but a fistful of dollars more than hold it's own against yojimbo... its like sergio leone got his template from kurosawa, and made it his own with bad-ass characterizations, a more neutral protagonist and a score from one of my 2 favorite film scorer ennio morricone... (the other one being bernard hermann)...

I don't class it as a remake, but more of a reimagining, transplanting the story into a radically different setting.

Interesting. Denounces 1943 Batman movie as racist for rounding up 'horrible Japanese stereotypes' after declaring FDR (who rounded up 110,000 actual Japanese Americans and put them in internment camps a year earlier) the greatest US president of the 20th century.

Just sticking up for mah boy Pea, don't pwn me dude. :boobies:

The Departed - might be an unpopular opinion but I think it's a superior film to Internal Affairs.

Fat Yank, that wasn't a remake... Judge Dredd is a Green Teef comic from the 1970s, not a Sylvester Stallone movie.

I see Squeal beat me to it.

What about all these Hollywood movies where Fat Yanks won world war II? They're a good remake of reality.

A lot of countries worked together to win World War 2. We don't don't come to Europe or we don't supply you ugly ****s then you would have fallen. Did we win WW2 alone, no. Were we an integral part. Of course.

Which would be fine of course if that was reflected by American film and television. There was only one British character in the whole of Band of Brothers and he drove a fucking van.

No wonder yanks think they won WWII single handedly. All of their films show them doing just that. And it's not like they're going to read about it.
