Do you think airlines discriminate size while hiring flight attendants?

Do you think airlines discriminate size while hiring flight attendants? When I say size I mean fat people, obviously being "too skinny" would not be a problem, i'm pretty sure from what I have seen, airlines prefer models as flight attendants, who can speak a couple languages and have a nice smile.

I ask not because i'm overweight or fat or what to join, just out of curiosity, because I finally seen one fat woman as a flight attendant, which was the first time ever. That made me think about how qualified do you have to be to become a flight attendant and be overweight. Like a short guy having to work extra hard to join the NBA because his height is not particularly in demand for his position.

It's illegal to discriminate, but come on, it happens, commonly. Employers still discriminate size, name, skin color, religion, despite it being in fine print that they don't discriminate.

      I think they do.
It would make sense since being to big could be a safety concern not to mention make it hard to do your job.

Exactly, you would think fat=trouble walking down the narrow isle, knocking down cups of rum and orange juice every where you go.

BUT...what if some one is perfectly qualified otherwise? Like they have the perfect personality, smile, they make passengers feel warm and tingly inside with their soft voice. But they get rejected solely because of their size? You're not joining the military here.

              Safety
Sure it's hard for them to get you your drink, but what about an emergency? How fast are they going to be able to move when they have to.

I think they do. Never seen a large flight attendant.

I've flown multiple times this year, there are definitely overweight flight attendants around (no pun).

However, I don't think foreign airlines have any problems discriminating and possibly don't have the same laws holding them back.

I read 10 times, the beer is kicking in.

Good for you, where to? I might go to Italy in December, it's looking dim because of a class I want to take, over going on vacation.
