My friend also supports Transhumanism and supports genetic modification to so your child can be born with certain type of eyes and no health defects and stuff like that. He is all up on to this science stuff.

Well some of those things are not bad per se...BUT as a culture we have to develop the ethical maturity to handle them responsibly. We are still at an age where we are like children compared to what we can envision. Thats a mouthful...

In other words, we live in societies where people horde toilet tissue, and where we accept people and animals suffering in the streets as "normal." How is society going to handle the power to shape life? And as far as life exstension technology...people were going into the emergency room a while back because a cleaning soap put a lemon on a free sample that was mailed...People thought it was lemonade...I mean after the first sip? really?

My point is there is nothing wrong with these type programs, but we need a rising tide to lift all boats... because when we start playing with life at that level, with no ethical programming...it is a recipe for disaster.

My friend graduated from UC Berkley, he is a fairly intelligent guy he told me people who have something to hide and are doing bad things are ones who oppose the microchips and the conspiracy theory nuts on the right.
