Have I missed something? No love for UFC 284 - P4P #1 vs #2?

Makhachev vs Volkanovsky not moving the needle for my boxing scene peeps? I'm intrigued by Vargas vs Foster but push comes to shove gonna have to choose the UFC card. I'm favouring Makhachev but this is absolutely one of those where I just can't make a solid call.

There was no promotion for the fight from the UFC either though.

Islam won but this fight was a lose-lose for him in my opinion. It's sort of like Bivol-Canelo but without the massive pay day.

Bivol loses, he's shamed out of existence. He wins and he just beat the smaller guy like he should have. No one thinks Bivol is the best fighter in the world despite beating the p4p 1.

Same should go for Islam here but I guess mma has really been watered down these days with the fans and the orgs.

Yeah weird thing is - seeing as how close the fight was and how big the gulf in size is, Volk should logically be P4P no.1 now.

That shouldn’t really cement Islam as no.1 although Volk is still a great win.

volk is a beast!!! kinda makes you look at the lightweight division with a question mark. I mean Islam was supposed to be this unstoppable force that ran thru Oliveira like nothing and then a guy fighting in the featherweight division moves up and arguably beat the champ!

Glad I watched this live and didn't even bother watching a replay of Vargas vs. Foster mainly because any fight involving Vargas is terrible to watch lol.

This UFC 284 is insane but the fight which blows my mind is between Alex Voilkanovski & Islam Makhachev. They both are amazing Islam is indeed the best.
