Anderson Silva. Because of best all-around skills IMO, deadly on the feet with his muay thai skills and pretty tough on the ground too, with his body triangles from the bottom position reversing to the top mount and good submission skills with his BJJ. Fedor is pretty close IMO, more of an American kickboxing style on the feet, great punching power and excellent submission skills. Royce Gracie is still my favorite though, because he was the guy that showed what Brazilian Jiu Jitsu can do in fighting and the overall importance of ground fighting and submission skills and that it's not all just about punches and kicks, but about grappling as well. A few years later, you started to see fighters cross training so they weren't just great at one discipline, but several different ones and trained in both striking and grappling to make ultimate fighting into the mixed martial arts we have today.
