President Martin Van Buren had his autobiography ghost written for him; his life story.

He never once mentioned his deceased wife or even that he had ever married.

Considering how corrupt he was he probably did her a favor.

Just as I said, he must have been a piss poor biographer since he couldn't even write his own. I would also believe (without proof) that most distinguished gentlemen of his era nearly always barely mentioned their wives in their personal writings. One good counter-example might not refute my theory, but it would be a start. Thanks for responding.
