Comments Thread For: Chad Dawson: I'm Still at My Peak, I'm a Free Agent

Former light heavyweight champion Chad Dawson last fought in June when he suffered a first round knockout loss to Adonis Stevenson in Montreal, Canada in an HBO televised fight. Even though he has lost two fights in a row, the 31-year-old Dawson is still very confident and is looking to get his career back on track.

"I am looking to get back in the ring as soon as possible. As far as my career, in my last fight I had an unfortunate loss but I can't cry over it. That is part of boxing but I am ready to get back in the game and continue where I left off as one of the best light heavyweights in the world. I believe that I am still one of the best, if not the best light heavyweights in the world and I can't wait to get back in the ring and show everyone what I am made of," Dawson stated.

He should fight Cloud. That will be a good measure for where he's at.

If he can't beat a bum like Cloud then it's time to hang them up.

This guy needs to take some time off, pick ONE guy to train him for the rest of his career and see if he has one last run in him.

It might be his laid back personality but Chad just hasn't seemed interested in boxing lately.

This guy needs a win , a promoter , and a chin. It's crazy where he's at now and where he was not to long ago. Fifty Cent where you at , he was talking him up in the past saying Chad's promotion wasn't right.

He could offer Hopkins a rematch to avenge the loss. What other way is he getting back on TV?

I am a free agent also. In the nfl, MLB, NBA, NHL. Send me a multi million dollar offer and I'll sign.

If he gets hungry again like he was years ago, he can do something again..

He became too complacent and became a jerk. Getting rid of Shaw Hi is a good thing. Now he just needs to realize, he does need work, he does need dedication and he does need to have enough faith in a trainer to listen and rebuild. He needs that commitment in himself. Talent can get you to the top, but you will not stay there if try to coast.

Saying he was weight drained one fight and did not know the fighter in the next fight is not a good sign. He should never have put himself in those situations. He should have known dropping weight is a career killer and he should have made sure he knew who Stevenson was.
