Comments Thread For: Orlando Salido: My Best Fights Are Against Puerto Ricans

WBO super featherweight champion Orlando Salido says fighters from Puerto Rico bring out the best in him. Salido, 34 years old, is scheduled to face his sixth Puerto Rican opponent in a nine-year career in which he held 57 fights. With a record of 42 wins, 29 knockouts, 12 losses and two draws - Salido will defend his belt against former champion Roman "Rocky" Martinez on April 11th at the Coliseo Jose Miguel Agrelot in San Juan.

Salido beat 2 Rican Boxers and all of a sudden hes the PR executioner ? theres mexicans that beat more Puerto Ricans than him. if that's the case majority of Boxers are Mexican executioners because majority of Boxers have beaten at least 3 Mexicans in there careers. I have nothing against Mexicans, i love the PR VS MEX Rivalry but it seems to me mexicans are desperate to get a hand up being PR is winning the Rivalry.

If Puerto Rico was a bigger country, they'd likely dominate the sport of boxing. There's too big of a talent pool in Mexico.

well yea the per capita numbers demonstrates that. PR only has a population of 3 million people and they have produced over 70 world champions. And that's amazing, but haters will never acknowledge that and give PR credit.

Haha gtfo with that pr is small shiet. I'm not trying to take anything away from them but just deal with it. The size of the country doesn't matter look at Cuba its also a small island that's produced some of the best fighters and well crafted champs and they never whine like pierto ricans

Puerto Rico is a country rich in boxing talent. The wars and excitement from the PR-Mexico rivalry has been a real treat to boxing fans. I hope the rivalry never ends.
