If you don't want your opponent to run, then stop them. What Walters is really saying here is that he doesn't think he could handle Rigo boxing.
Nothing wrong with a little trash talk from the Axe Man to get attention for his upcoming fight.

But Bojangles1987 is absolutely correct. If you cut off the ring, Rigo can't "run". SO hopefully Walters is working on this in preparation for a Rigo fight.

              But wait...
The riporter just said Rigo is going up to 126?
Did he really say that? If yes, where did he hear that?

Walters is pretty much confirming that Rigo would box his head off.

It's a joke to refer to a fighter with good defence as a 'runner'.

I don't really see Walters as a Thurman type, maybe there are fights I have missed but I haven't seen him box off the backfoot for any length of time.

Strong puncher with good technical skills, who tends to pressure more often than not. I can see him catching Lomachenko down the stretch.
That Arum part was a joke or it tried to be a joke. He is an old, sneaky bastard but I don't think he's the one to blame for this.
I think Walter boxed on the back foot against Donaire couple of times and he did with Darchinyan sometimes too. Sure, he is an offensive minded fighter but so is Thurman. I think they have a lot common in style this is why I like both of them.

I mean if I want to find a similar styled puncher/boxer-puncher like Walters I would say a rangy, explosive guy first who can fight on the back foot, like Thurmn not an all out war brawler like Maidana or Provodnikov and not an intelligent stalker like Golovkin or Kovlev.

to be very fair to rigo, what he does is NOT run at all. you want running cowards you watch floyd mayweather. rigo stands his ground and counters and never runs.

walters and rigo are both REAL fighters with two different styles. but both never back down and give it their all! unlike cowards like floyd.
