what complaint will boxing fans have for this one?

I have been critical of PBC match ups and i'll admit it. Is my complaint Haymon hate related, no. Its about if you really want to put boxing back on the American map sports wise Haymon needs to make better match ups. Plus just because its on free tv doesn't mean people outside of the die hard only fanbase that supports boxing is going to flock to it. You need great matchups with the best fighting the best and my thinking is, if you want boxing to grow then show only the very best fights on network tv, just don't throw anything out there.

Now this fight is a step in the right direction. Two top guys going at it. Now hopefully Haymon will build on this and give us these kind of matchup. Because so far most of his fights have been showcase fights for his stars.

I give Haymon credit for making this fight and putting on free tv.

Before that. Haymon made this mistake Arum made with Gamboa and Juanma, he waited too long, and one of them got knocked out.

There was a point when they both had great hype and momentum behind them, and they were just allowed to cool off. Now they are both non-en****** in the sport basically, and the fight is not nearly as interesting.

This fight should have been the comain event on the Mayweather Pacquiao undercard just in case the fight of the century turned out to be a dud. But nobody ever asks me what I think.

Espn can make or break PBC, big ratings on espn, especially with fights that deliver, with highlights on sports center is probably the best case scenario for PBC.

i mean no different then what hbo and gbp do i mean the fights are getting better not worse as it goes on as well and over time more fighters will come into the fold sounds like u are holding haymon at an extremely higher level when top rank and gbp and hbo in general are doing nothing but showcases

If golden boy or top rank went and claimed they were going to save boxing and bring boxing back to the forefront of American sports and were still making showcase fights id be Just as critical. I'm a true fan of boxing and don't hold loyalties to any boxer or promoter or managers. I only want great fights.

With Haymon saying he was going to bring boxing back and save it we have to expect and want the best. Not just saywell at least he is giving us something. I want boxing to succeed and if Haymon is going to bring boxing back to network free tv. I want him to make the best matchups out there not just showcase fights. Showcase fights don't do anything for the betterment of boxing. He's made a couple good matchups on free tv. But he needs to exclusively put the best on free network TV.
