look up his debut fight. I don't know how many fights more until he decided to move up. You think his team just said "anyone form 154-168 can get it" just to try to throw Floyd in the mix? No because he actually fought at 154 before.

The first fight where there is any potential compromise on Ward's part at all and "nope, no way". GGG is willing to move up 4 pounds but Ward won't compromise one bit.......yet it's GGG who doesn't want the fight?

You guys are crazy....defend him if you want but Ward is the one who doesn't want it. Both Chavez and Froch were the A-sides compared to GGG but Ward isn't, so GGG had little leverage over them. Ward still thinks he is the A-side but he isn't.

These guys arent in the same division, GGGs a MW and Wards a SMW, how tf is that so hard to get ur minds around. Neithrr fighter will get full credit...instead of GGG going up to 168, which Ward wouldnt get credit for in the 1st place, how about Ward come all the way down to 160?? Where GGG wouldnt get the credit.

i hate the everything-should-be-in-favor-of the-guy-they-support logic, especially when it comes to making a fight between guys IN SEPARATE WEIGHT DIVISIONS. Supporters of either guy make valid cases..GGG should go up/Ward should come down..but theres gotta be compromise or NO FIGHT, blame the other side right?

Golovkin had the right, but was unwilling, to face Ward at 168.

You can call that whatever you like bro, but I know what I am calling it.

Call it a duck whatever, but I see why. Ward is way better than Froch.
Of course he's gonna fight someone worse and concede stuff to them.

I believe to be competitive with Ward, he has to seek any advantage he's going to get.

And he tried to. It's been done a million times in boxing.

I think people would be surprised to know how much of this stuff existed in the old days. Catchweights, purse demands, ring entrances, venue, number of rounds, etc, etc, etc. It's always been around.

In fact, I'd argue, that in the old days things were WORSE than they were today!

              For example:
              Kid Lavigne vs. Joe Walcott

              Queens, NY. December 2nd, 1885

Joe Walcott was a welterweight champion who received a challenge from the promoter of Kid Lavigne, the lightweight champion. Now remember, this was the 1800's and everything from stipulations were negotiated and nothing was out of the question as long as both sides agreed.

Basically the deal was that Joe Walcott had to knock the smaller Lavigne out within 15 rounds or he would lose the fight. The condition for Walcott was that he couldn't come in any heavier than 133 pounds making it one of boxing's first catchweight fights. Both fighters came in at 131 and 1/2 pounds for the bout. Walcott had his way with the smaller Lavigne for most of the fight but did show signs of fatigue according to ring side observers.

Since Walcott had to win by knockout he began to get desperate despite putting a beating on the smaller Lavigne. Leaving him self open he was dropped in the 13th and proceeded to take a beating in the 14th in which he had to hold on to the ropes to keep him self up, according to those who reported the fight.

Exactly, people happily ignore Ward and his unwillingness to ever compromise with anyone. He has to have it all his way or nothing, it's pathetic.

You see a fight at '54 anywhere on this list?

Of course he is going to throw Mayweathers name out there. Same with Ward calling him out at '60.

You are going to make concessions to get your hat in discussions with the biggest money name in the entire sport.

Golovkin isn't a small middleweight he's a solid sized middleweight. He's not huge for the weight and he's not small for the weight. Golovkin is also bigger than Canelo.

So, despite Golovkin having a weak resume, and despite him being in desperate need of a defining fight..... you are happy to support that blatant duck of Ward for financial reasons ?

Golovkin did not refuse to fight Ward, he ducked Ward by insisting upon a catchweight that was not required for Froch/Chavez.

Golovkin did not use a financial excuse, so why are you ?

The weight is the issue, not the finances..... so why are you supporting that blatant duck of Ande Ward when Golovkin was happy to fight Froch at 168?
