Well, Ward was free not to sign with HBO (again!)... Ward was free to pursue his career at 168... I don't remember anybody "forcing" somebody into anything.
... Actually Andre Ward is free to do what he chooses to do in the future.

it is not about wat ward wanted..its about him not being a big enough draw for hbo to respect him..he is saying hbo told him they wouldnt put him on hbo unless he moved to 175 bc they have no names at 168. and wards name alone is not good enough ratings..bt ggg's and thats just wat ward has to deal with it

Taking a career high payday to go to Canada and beat Bute to COMPLETELY clean out his division and then fighting the LHW champ at LHW would've went a long way towards getting some respect.
Actually being an active champion instead of sitting on the shelf would've helped too.

i dont think its unfortunate that a i didnt see a welterweight fight a middleweight...but it is unfortunate that u feel ggg can come to 154 and get a shot before ppl who have fought at the division..its especially unfortunate when that is the same kind of crap ggg fans say when lara is mentioned.."if lara wants to fight ggg at 160 he should come earn it"...why is ggg getting the privilege of just moving a division fightin for money and the lineal title? huh?

And because Golovkin's team wanted a 164 pound catch weight.

And because Golovkin's team turned down an offer from Roc Nation in 36 minutes.
