      I didn't say he fought a LHW opponent. But what does fighting at above 168lb mean to you? You're telling me it's not LHW? You really are the worst new poster I've seen here since elory1.

        That is exactly what I'm saying.

        If you are not a LHW, and you are not fighting a LHW opponent, AND the fight is not at the LHW limit..... then it is obviously NOT a LHW contest.

        If that fight had been against a LHW opponent, the best you could call it is a catchweight fight within the LHW range..... but it wasn't, everybody knows at that stage Ward was working his way back down to 168 in hopes of landing the Golovkin fight following a period of inactivity.

        Immediately after the Smith fight he made an offer to Golovkin, at 168.

        That was an over-the-limit non-title " tune-up " between two SMW's, to enable one of them to work his way back down to 168 following a period of inactivity..... no point in calling it a LHW fight.
