I never thought the fight between champion Brook and champion GGG was that terrible to begin with. In the past the middleweight champion fighting thee welterweight champion was fairly common and nobody complained about it. It was considered moving up 1 weight class, not 2 weight classes. Ray Robinson lost his middleweight title to welterweight champion Carmen Basillio and middleweight champion **** Tiger lost to welterweight champion Griffith so sometimes the welterweight won. Brook says he was killing himself making 147 so he might be more of a natural 154 pound boxer anyway. I expect GGG to win by KO because he is better, not because he is bigger. They might weigh close to the same on fight night. I am OK with GGG fighting Ward at 175 if he wants to do that but he certainly isn't obliged to do that. Those who insist GGG must fight Ward at 175 only want GGG to lose a fight no matter what it takes. They would be heart broken if GGG beat Ward.

So in late 2015 when he offered a fight to GGG at 168 he wasn't sure he could make 168? At that time he was stating that he was being preassured to move up, and he still didn't decide in which division to fight, which clearly shows that he could still make 168. This was AFTER the Smith fight happened. AFTER he posted a picture on twitter being 173 two weeks before the Smith fight.

        Explain the contradiction please.

Has he was weighing up options as he hadn't fully committed to 175 as of that moment. The GGG fight which GGG and his team had incessantly been talking about at every opportunity whilst Ward was inactive was an option Ward was considering until he called GGG's bluff, hence why Team GGG shut their mouths afterwards.

It's all there, all documented repeatedly. Anyone from 154-168. But not Cameltoe or Ward they meant, that has to be above 155 and below 164, you're fückin pathetic. Are you the alt account of the poster Golovkin ?

However, a lot of posters on this site demand that golovkin fight ward, which would (if he beats brook) mean a 36-0 fighter stepping up two weight classes to fight a light heavyweight.
If that fight did get made, not necessarily next but in the future, would all those members of the forum criticising golovkin for fighting brook, then criticise ward for fighting the smaller man instead, especially when the weight difference between the two would likely be larger than brook compared to golovkin?
Do people think ward would deserve criticism or should he be focusing on fighting light heavyweights instead?

            Tarver vs Hopkins

Just one example of the light heavyweight champ fighting the middleweight champ.

Nobody called that a cherry pick. So to answer your question no it wouldn't be a cherry pick.

It would be 2 of the top 5 p4p fighters in the world competing to see who is king

Hopkins fought tarver at 175. No questions asked.

              Great fighters jump weights.

              Will golovkin do the same?

After he's done with MW, most of us definitely hope so.

The point most of you are trying to deflect is that in order for one man to jump in weights and dare to be great, the other party, the bigger fighter, needs to accept the challenge.

Tarver did not get called a cherry picker for fighting Hopkins. Hagler did not get called a cherrypicker for fighting SRL. Andre Ward is not being called a cherry picker for talking about a fight with Golovkin, and neither was Froch. Crawford was not called a cherrypicker for fighting Gamboa.

Calling Golovkin a cherry picker because he accepted Brook's challenge while waiting for all other fights to materialize makes you a huge, huge hypocrite.

No not fighting bigger, more accomplished fighters makes brook a cherry pick.

It's a guy name erislandy lara that has been fighting on hbo/showtime for 5 years. That has been in with canelo and Paul williams and has fought on ppv the same amount of times as golovkin.

He was the perfect opponent. Team golovkin look right over him for a welterweight. That's where the criticism is coming from.

And don't leave out the part where golovkin said out of his own mouth "Brook is too small".

If a fighter says a guy is too little too fight me and then turns around and fights that fighter. It's a cherry pick bro
