Would Brook have beaten Spence if not for the headbutt that broke Brooks eye?

... I was also looking for a round-by-round punch stats of the Spence vs Brook fight -- it doesn't exist on the Web!!!

    (... and I'm a big Spence's fan, tbh... )

Now about "the clash of heads" -- it was a "clean" headbutt, as Spence jumps ahead with little intention to use his hands and he hits with his forehead only...

... nevertheless, the Brit ref (Howard John Foster) didn't "see" that clash of heads... he could have stop the fight, he could have called the Brit doctor who wouldn't have hesitated pulling Brook out... and the fight would've been ruled a "Split Draw", as (at that point) the scorecards were like:
      Byrd had it 77-75 Spence
      Parris had it 77-75 Brook
      Lopez had it 76-76 Even....

      But all those didn't happen...

I don't understand what's the point of quoting me, your not gonna prove your opinion to me.

If after the 1st six you had Brook up good for you. Not mad at a 4-2 either way although I don't personally agree. I can see a 3-3 but to act like Brook unequivocally had a 5-1 lead or something is preposterous & something I'll never agree with.

Yea I know I realized it wasnt going to be released after awhile lol. As for everything else I'm not even taking OP at face value. He clearly has an agenda. But this coulda been after a series of right hooks (or left hooks not 100% sure off top) to cause the eye swelling & the headbutt was just the icing on the cake. Context is everything in this case.

Also I don't even remember Brook "reacting" to a headbutt in the fight, again how miniscule it was. Normally the ref may give time when that happens. Also there was a point where Brook's eye blew up went back down then had I believe like a little bubble on it. & I don't remember him not getting hit on it after the swelling so that was weird. (I'm aware of enswell). But I'll keep an eye out no pun intended whenever I get time to go back & see but definitely not taking OP's word....

Brook was ruined by GGG and to add to that the weight loss coming back down to a division you could barely make before moving up two divisions definitely had a lot to do with the fight and the headbutt obviously had an effect too.

Brook was already damaged goods so it's debatable but he was getting slowed down by body shots. I think that a pre-GGG Brook would have defeated Spence.

He battered his face in the 11th and had him holding on for dear life until he made him take a knee like a good boy.

he didn't just batter his face, spence is probably the best and hardest working body puncher in boxing who isn't a limited, unathletic fighter who has to pressure to be effective and has no other choice!

spence took brook's best shots and picked him apart, once the combinations started to land brook wanted to go home and you could see it. he hadn't been teh same since golovkin stopped him, you could literally see his body starting to give.

I remember it being a close fight that turned bad for Brook in the later rounds under non stop pressure and the eye injury. I honestly don't remember the head butt but I haven't watched it since it aired live.

brook was not the same after golovkin brutally stopped him. spence fought the leftover remains of brook spence gets no credit for that win!

I always felt Spence was in control and systematically breaking Brook down.
Brook faded badly and Spence was just slowly but surely breaking him down bit by bit.
It was like a video game where you see the stamina bar deplete everytime Spence went to the body

Regardless of the injury I don't feel it changed anything.
Brook was exhausted and beaten up, Spence still unbelievably fresh.

One of my very first threads (was looking for it, but can't find it)
was about Spence being just a bigger version of Porter.
Spence has a brawling streak just like Porter.
Hard to stop such fighter with a bulldozing style.
Forget being a better boxer. It's unstoppable.
Can't wait to see how Garcia would handle it.
                      I'm rooting for the underdog.
