Danny Garcia is getting a very little respect

His victims: Morales, Judah, Khan, Matthysse, Rios, Guerrero

As we see, he has beaten some of the guys that are also the part of Mayweather`s or Pacquiao`s resume, or even Canelo`s ( Khan).

This guy is underrated , because he lost to Thurman and Porter. When Ortiz jr. stops Samuel Vargas, people say he is top level. When Danny stops S. Vargas, it is just another day at work for him.

Vergil beat the cr@p out of Vargas @ 22 yrs old, Danny didn’t fight him until he was 28 yrs old. Also, Morales, Judah, Rios and Guerrero were all past their respective prime. However, Swift did beat a prime Matthysse and Khan so he deserves respect for those. Yet, Danny also lost to Herrera and had one of the worst cherry picks in boxing history with Rod Salka.

Danny has never been dominated, never been dropped or stopped. This is a very dangerous fight for spence especially coming off the car accident situation.

i agree with most of this...at least the first 3 sentences

however i do feel like danny is very disrespected around these parts....as southpawology also points out...never dominated, dropped or stopped

i know why danny gets hated on....hes viewed as the weaker/maybe weakest link of the pbc welterweights....so he gets picked on hard because so many despise the pbc and anything affiliated with al haymon

if crawford was fighting danny next youd be hearing them talk about how danny is unfairly talked down on and hes tough but that "crawford is gonna beat the dog crap out of him"........spence coming off a car accident/layoff tho? oh no! danny is garbage.....danny is just another victim in the pbc hate game....hes good...hes not great...but deserves more respect than hes given at times around here

Danny gets lil respect or less than he should let's say mostly cuz he lets his dad do the sh^t talking for him usually & they've openly discussed wanting to fight the least risky opponents for the most money exposing, some say, their lack of confidence in themselves. Shawn has the let his dad talk for him thing going on too which lowers the respect he gets to I feel like.

In the ring Danny is a strong second tier to Bud & Errol level guy that is gonna do well vs those under him & be in the fight or competitive vs those at his level & above. And if Errol isn't the same guy he was before his accident that will get proven cuz there isn't usually THAT much distance between top tier & 2nd tier guys especially in a deep division like 147.

Good points & more relevant to in the ring performance on his respect than the out of ring sh^t I mentioned.

When you beat someone matters & a contender beating a guy & a prospect (and Vergil still feels half prospect/half contender at his age despite his overall resume over some proven guys as of late) beating the same guy is rarely going to have the same meaning to them so the Vargas thing is what it is & would be similar & has been similar with others at different levels of the game fighting the same respectable level guy.

And the Herrera fight was a really bad look for Danny & cats who are seen as guys who got gift decisions often get less respect from fans fairly cuz they shoulda lost or unfairly cuz it's not like they had a hand in the decision.

Plus that Salka fight is still a punchline fight to many boxing fans which is never good for a boxers rep.

Obviously Danny has fought (& clearly or dominantly beaten) some really good boxers. We wouldn't be talking about him otherwise.

That said the things the other poster mentioned can also be relevant to maybe why Danny is less respected by many.

As to the specifics the consensus here & most forums was Herrera got screwed.

                  If you look at:

You'll notice of the 17 guys who recorded their rbr scoring the lean on the outcome was 10-2-5 Herrera.

And again with the Salka thing opponent selection doesn't often become a punchline for jokes & memes so saying the Salka fight was just a stay busy type opponent doesn't really hold true. Salka was still FAR beneath a caliber of guy Danny should of been fighting even for a stay busy fight. Let's not act like this is unfair treatment when even legendary fighters like Mike Tyson (via Peter McNeely after his release among others) & JCC (via his stay busy Tijuana Taxi driver opponents) have had punchline opponents when they fought guys far beneath them. And plenty others have gotten sh^t for fighting guys far beneath their level.

Totally disrespected! He could just as easily be undefeated still. Thurman and Porter fights were razor thin.
