Carbs...good or bad while trying to burn fat?

Do you cut them period, cut back or are they good?

Cutting back on carbs in general will help you lose fat, but Carbs after a workout are excellent because whatever you consume post workout goes straight to recovery

They're what you shouldn't really be worried about. You should be concerned about your caloric intake and expenditure since that is what weight loss or gain is determined by. The ratio of carbs to fat doesn't matter but you should definitely eat enough protein to maintain muscle mass and strength.

Basically, if you want to lose weight eat about 500 calories below your caloric expenditure and you'll lose a pound a week. If you need to lose weight slower or faster adjust your intake accordingly.

No scientific study has found ketogenic diets to benefit fat loss. You only lose a couple pounds of water weight since you deplete your glycogen stores.

Sugar (carbs) converts to fat when you raise your blood sugar too high. Fat reconverts to sugar when your sugar stores are depleted...soooo.

Something that works for me is to eat carbs on workout days and then go low carb on rest days.

That way I have energy when I need to go hard but can tone it down when I'm not.
