Apparently, according to Amanda Staveley who basically put the deal together - the Premier league wanted Saudi Arabia to be the director of the club rather than the PIF. Amanda said this has never been done before and isn't right. She also said the Premier league said they wouldnt reject the deal as it stands but also wouldn't deny it either. Which left the whole thing in limbo.

As a NUFC fan, i'm absolutely gutted. Looking at the kind of players we are looking at in the transfer market from rumours....it's a bleak time.

Think politically it is probably the worst time to get oil rich middle eastern owners. With human rights abuses and whatnot.

I suppose what the premier league were more worried about was the pound note and basically Saudi's pirating the pl for years.

Tbf, I know Man City have cooked the books we can all read an email and are basically cheats regarding FFP BUT the infrastructure theyve built around City has benefitted a community. Because when the dough is there that money can be rerouted for good. Which is obviously ironic if held side by side to the treatment of migrant workers in the UAE or whatever

The yanks are far more hard nosed If Liverpool's owners who are widely praised by a Liverpool bias media are anything to go by.

Will builda stage to lift a trophy in front of nobody 'for the Brand'. But will try and furlough Brenda the tea lady to save a pound.

Who are the fit and proper persons really? Both have their faults.

Football clubs are a product of their locality even in this global age. You just cant do what Liverpool and Spurs done whilst being worth billions. It doesn't even matter that they didnt do it in the end. The betrayal already happened.

Especially in Liverpool a labour stronghold. The yanks had no clue about the social make up of their own team.

I don't really doubt that Newcastle as a City would benefit from an influx of cash. Nevermind the team.

Ultimately, football is never a business. I wouldn't want someone to run Chelsea like one. They're basically museums and non profit organisations who make their people happy.

      That's it.

Remember when everyone here thought Pulisic was just the next hyped up American bum? Kid is pure class, shredding England to bits

Pulisic did his hamstring like Torres. Breakaway on goal and inexplicably collapses in a heap. I know Ive already dubbed him Robben 2.0 but holy chit. The writing was on the wall once he went down.

Chelsea got had. I dont think I have ever watched an FA cup this bad. I know it may be heightened because I support Chelsea but when tf has a keeper come out the box, take the ball, walk back into the box in football and it not get called? Like some chit from a video game. I couldnt believe me eyes really.

Jesus *****ing Christ that game was bad... but I guess thats karma for doing one on Wolves by the ref.

Newcastle could still make it without a mega owner if they got the right manager. Obviously hands will always be tied because Ashley is an in real life troll but what would you think if Eddie Howe was appointed At Newcastle?

Its not a ***y name but if he could take Bournemouth from what? league two? to PL sniffing Europa. What could he do with Newcastle?

Fair play to Arsenal, deserved to win.

Lamps has done brilliantly this season because in real terms he has nothing in the back 6/7 players he can rely on.

I am tired of that ref though. So many mistakes he has made that have cost us where I dont know about him.

I dont want him refereeing any of our games

Eddie Howe is better than what we currently have but for his style to work, he would need to clear the majority of the squad out. We literally can't play off the ground to save our lives. The lads do not know what possession is. He will need to do a clear out job but to do that he will need time and money from Ashley. I don't think Ashley will invest what money he makes back into the club.

Steve Bruce is basically just using Rafa's tactics at this point. Instead of using Perez/Rondon, he's using ASM.

Terrible reffing. I still felt Chelsea gave the game away after the dominant first 20-30 minutes. Arsenals defence were so shaky then. I think it's known that your defence is abysmal. You guys need 2 defenders in. I feel like they were needed even more than the guys you bought in.

Pulisic going off was a huge miss. He has been magic on the ball for the past month or 2.

                  They're second goal is hilarious.

Rudiger got nutmegged and ended up on his arse. Christensen arguably got fouled but the fact remained he got bodied by Hector f.uckin Bellerin, and then Zouma beaten all ends up.

I cant think of any other Chelsea team that would have allowed that goal to happen in the last 20 years. Terry would broken the first guy in half, even Cahill, even Luiz, Riccy, Gallas, Ashley Cole, even Azpi.

I agree with Lampards comments. Chelsea showed they could have blown them away but then just stopped. The game turned when Kova under no pressure turned into Xhaka and fouled him getting booked. He was always gonna get sent off then. Taylor couldn't wait.

I cant see how that ref can referee a Chelsea game again though he's made too many mistakes to the extent he's under pressure and is a factor in the game. He can only over compensate either way and not referee normally.

I dont know how he referees other games but he is a really hard person for Chelsea to overcome. All his errors must come in our games or else he wouldnt be a professional ref. That said, they gave him this final after the Sanchez caught the ball in his first one and scored.

If he's the ref. I assume we are going to lose.

Pulisic having a shot on a probably torn hamstring is also the highlight of the season for Chelsea.

                    Hopefully he recovers well.

He will be one of the best players in the world.

If he didnt get injured he was probably gonna win that game by himself.

Chelsea were crap but there is not one thing that went their way apart from maybe it is surprise that Taylor didnt take out a red for Azpi which then likely would have been overturned.

Most likely how it will go with Ashley. Newcastle is probably just a net worth thing for him at this point. He really doesn't show interest in the club anymore.

Eddie parted ways with Bournemouth by mutual consent however. So I can only figure he's angling for another Premier League club. He deserves it in my opinion.

He's beaten Chelsea, beaten United, held Spurs, had City in moments, beaten Everton and all from tactics, not ****housery like Dyche and Wilder.

I could see him elevate Newcastle or Palace. Specially with those fan bases behind him. They'd probably win games just on motivation from the crowd combined with his tactical ability.
