Comments Thread For: Spence: Thurman Talking Like an Old Fighter, Losing Hunger!

IBF welterweight champion Errol Spence (23-0, 20 KOs) is still hoping to land a unification with WBA, WBC world champion Keith Thurman (28-0, 22 KOs). But based on the latest set of circumstances, it may not happen until 2019 or even 2020.

I wouldn't count on it ever happening. The sanctioning bodies need to have a rule where with an injury you will lose the titles if you are inactive too long. Thurman is holding up the entire division right now.

WBC needs to go ahead and order Porter vs. Garcia for the interim title! If Thurman doesn't face the winner in 2018, he should be stripped! On another note, what's the status of Yordenis Ugas? I want to see him again! Ugas vs. Alexander?

-The WBC has stripped Ward, Linares, and Drozd due too prolong injury.
-The WBA stripped Rigo due too length of time out of the ring.

Make Thurman CIS and call it a day.

Thurman is n1 is the division think he still beats spence right errol is game but the longer this fight takes the more chance spence will have evolved and beat the champion

I like Thurman but Spence is right. Thurman should get back in to the fold or simply vacate the belts. There's no need in holding the titles hostage. These are some harsh comments from Spence though and hopefully Thurman takes notice. Seems about right though. The Thurman we've seen lately is always waiting for a big fight, just waiting for the money to be right and for it to be big enough. I remember a year or two ago he was saying he'd fight anyone. Seems like he's gotten comfortable after his two big wins and the titles and money he's earned.

              Yes, harsh but true.

                Spence is spot on.

Blood is in the water. Has been for over a year now.

Spence is resorting to the Jedi-Mind-Trick to try and lure Thurman into a unification. We've all known for over a year now that One Time doesn't want this fight.

I'm one of the biggest Thurman fans here but Spence ain't lying about anything here. Thurman made some good money, snatched two belts, traveled the world, and got married in Nepal. Good for him, but it appeared that boxing took a backseat for him. Not a good idea when you have somebody like Spence breathing down his neck ready to take his head clean off.

This wouldn't look so bad if Thurman was more vocal and let us know what's going on. He'll pop up occasionally then disappear all over again. Won't even have his cup cake opponent in May and who knows when we see him in the ring again. They just need to strip him and make him #1 contender when he returns. Lets Spence fight for the WBA and Garcia-Porter for the WBC.
