I am fairly certain they all get/got their talking points from the same place and just eat them up and don't think about them. Because for some reason they need to be told that GGG wasn't good, GGG just threatens them for whatever reason. They just parrot the talking point without thinking. i do hate canelo, mainly because he's an entitled brat who used peds. Not to mention he has 1 dumb ass fan base that can be quite annoying on this forum. People give no real credit for Martin Murray, who had just basically beaten Sergio Martinez in Argentina. No credit for KOs of Lemieux, Stevens, Ouma, Brook, Monroe, Vanes, Proksa, Geale, Adama, Macklin, Ishida, etc.

I just think it's bizarre that one criticism of GGG is basically 'He needs to fight as tough fights as possible for 0 money'. I think people are just pissed that he actually got the Canelo fight(s) and has gotten paid so well.

Also - 3 of his last 4 fights have been against Canelo and Jacobs. With the 4th fight being a last minute replacement against Vanes, when he didn't want to lose the Cinco de Mayo date he had been training for, with the Canelo fight a few months away in September.

I guess when you're a fan of a fighter, I don't want to see him make terrible business decisions and make $10 million when he could make $100 million.

And honestly I would probably feel that way about any fighter. These guys are not playing a game, this is life and death stuff. I too want to see the best fights, but those fights are usually what bring in the most money as well, so it all tends to work out.

For example I am not really a Floyd fan but if he can get big money every fight, God bless him. Did you heavily criticize him fighting Berto instead of Spence btw?

I don't think that Dervy fight would have happened on May 5th so it would have thrown a wrench in GGG's plans. And at 36 he didn't really have time to mess around. He made the right move - fight Vanes, then Canelo in September. If he fought Dervy it wouldn't have been in May and the 2nd Canelo fight and $30 million or so he got wouldn't have happened.

And I can guarantee if GGG smashed Dervy then people would just say - well he ******, GGG really didn't want (insert name here).
