This fight is a very underrated win by Floyd, there's a reason he showed the emotion he did afterwards. Hatton made him earn that shìt.

With that said I feel like I've heard Hatton contrafict himself previously in regards to this, but don't care enough to look it up.

You can't really complain about robbery if you got K.O.d...I mean, a KO is pretty damn decisive right?

I do believe refs get special "envelopes" before the matches..you tend to see too many shady moments with referring and judging i.e. weeks with wards low blows allowance, weeks with Corrales mouth piece, neuman with abraham vs miranda 1, that jackhole in the ottke reid fight, cortez not supposedly looking in the mayweather ortiz fight, steele against taylor in the chavez fight, pabon allowing klitschko to hold down povetkin...the list goes on n on

Ricky gave a good account of himself considering his limited abilities. Against the very best (May, PAC) he was always going to come up short. These guys have been there done that so won't fall for that kind of tactics. Ricky have a case for himself and himself only in feeling robbed. He trained and planned for a scrap and got nothing. A huge % of the time, the top man will dictate, that's why they are the top men... deep down, His agrievences are probably with himself and just sticking it on the ref..

I loved Ricky and the Tszu was a great night/morning, my best live boxing event and Tszu also ****ed up with his planning, training in that one...

Pointless beating yourself up Ricky, Ultimately the result was always going to be the same. Had Cortez allowed it, Mayweather would have just adapted and beat you down another way. It's what the best fighters do..

Ricky was a warrior, but he wasn't near Floyd's class. Floyd was capable of making just about everybody, including Canelo, look ordinary.

A Mozart doesn't come around every generation, and neither does a PBF.

I had some problems with Joe Cortez's ring management. But on this night, getting Hatton's head and shoulders out of Mayweather's chest wasn't why Ricky lost. It was always going to be a matter of timing him charging in. He made that difficult with his bullheaded style -- just not impossible.

Maidana was a much tougher nut to crack, but that was seven years later when Floyd was only a year away from retirement.

                this is a contact sport
you can get away with as much as the ref allows

Yeah that's what makes that fight unfair because the ref don't want hatton to do his tricks while allowing floyd to do his dirty tricks and that makes hatton desperate and just leave himself open that cause the ko loss.

Hatton wanted every ref to be like that hometown one that let him mug and low blow Kostya Tszyu in Manchester.

Tbf Ricky had Micky Vann for years.

But in that Floyd fight Cortez was very active in the first 3/4 rounds when Hatton was hyper aggressive. Which was only ever gonna be his chance.

But when they were in there like has been said Floyd did well. Albeit used his elbows all night long
