I think the games have been a bit better tbf.

Most teams now playing twice a week should make the games a little more open.

I only watched match of the day and the Chelsea game but Chelsea had 5 added minutes at the end so at least that is a legacy of the world cup.

Referee was awful though in the Chelsea match. English officials are just really bad imo. I thought both Arsenal and Spurs suffered really poor decisions too.

At 70k a year. Just pay refs a 100k and fly in the best ones from Europe. Our guys really don't know the game anymore. They have been confused by VAR and are no longer capable of making correct decisions or just making decisions at all. The clear and obvious thing has now completely flummoxed them.

Media spotlight can't help. That and let's be honest. An English ref? Could you be more of an actual dweeb? No. You can't.

And when Taylor is held up as our poster boy ref a man who the pgmol admitted to several of his mistakes (not including Cucurella scalping) then the game is up.

I dunno why but our refs are objectively terrible. It was a relief to see that Brazilian terror s.hit all over the England vs France match just to know we don't completely monopolise bad referees.
