I'm glad Manchester United are starting to come back down to earth. They were riding that new manager wave hard, to the point of s.hiting on their own legends.

Chelsea are in a weird spot but it has the feel of something that will be envious in 5 years.

to be fair to him something is clearly up with him. It isn't even that he's a bad defender. I mean HE IS a bad defender. It is the execution of basic skills. Such as clearing his feet properly with his first touch. Seeing any pass that isn't a 5-10 yard pass going backwards.


Based on what he's shown though. In my 30 years watching them he is the worst player we have ever had.

I did feel sorry for him when he came out for 2nd half.

Felix was in conversation with him just telling him clearly to look forward. Cucurella looked really stressed.

It must be an issue that they are trying to address but he has the football version of the yips. He shouldn't be playing.

give him preseason under the new manager (there is simply no way Potter isn't in effect sacked already. I don't care what the noises are. Potter is that relaxed. Likely told or aware already that they plan on replacing him. Likely an accounting or availability issue.). See if he can become a competent back up.

Apart from Cucu's poor positioning for the goal he actually lost the ball in our third of the pitch because there was no pass in Badiashille.

I saw one of those graphics with the arrows that indicate passing routes. Thickness describing the number of those passes made. The thickest of all was Cucu back to Badiashille the thinnest was Cucu into Mudryk and Felix.

I don't know if it would have been better if we had 10 men but maybe.
