A lot of the footy I've seen is dull, not even just Chelsea (who are a ridiculously boring side these days).

I genuinely think we need to change something around the back pass rule. It is killing the intensity of the game.

What I would says about Spurs not counting the absolute roll over job you did at Anfield in that cup game is...at least games with Spurs in them look different. Usually quite fun for the neutral.

Like Flicker used to say most teams are just going across the field slowly in a u shape.

The lack of intent is maddening. And all dominating possession really is nowadays is passing back to your keeper more than the opposition.

Chelsea nowadays are Spurs level anyway - neither of us are doing anything really. If you win mostly you can accept any old dross but the way teams like Chelsea play isn't worth the grind of watching it. I expect us to lose at least half the games left giving us a truer reflection of the side because being 4th is wild.

Chelsea and City are extreme examples because I think that style of play now looks so pathetic but most teams in the pl are shades of s.hit to watch.

I'd say Liverpool, Spurs, and Brighton are the only teams you can watch when it doesn't just look like you're watching the same f.ucking game you've seen a thousand times.

Can someone please explain the allure of soccer? I played it when I was young as it is an easy game to play. And the rules are easy. So anyone can play, even 5 yeard olds. I played many sports so I get a sense of victory from it. The rise of scoring a goal. etc...


But as I aged the game was rather dull and boring. The amount of games at the end of a draw is about 20%. 1 score victories are many. The off side rules limit the action! big time. Play you man! And the girly man theatics to draw a yellow or red samefull. Often the player pretending to be hurt is up and running as soon as the referee does not give him the call. Um, right.

Really the action of a game is broken down about 45 to seconds. That is it for about 90 minutes. The image of men covering up from free kicks is a sorry sight to see, and who really cares if a hand touches a ball but does not dictate the action?

So please tell me about the excitement of the game and if you have to say " you did not grow up with it " you're wrong.

Obviously different playing and watching but for watching:

Euphoria.

It is low scoring game. At times a no scoring game and it is often dull.

Football is at its dullest right now imo at the top levels but even then it guarantees for everybody that watches it and cares deeply about it - euphoria. Genuine euphoria.

Football is tribalism and euphoria.
