He works sales for medical supplies.

Which makes me think, if he wasn't working, how different would his tone be.

I'm noticing a lot of people who are saying keep it closed are the ones who are still getting a check

Couldn't agree more, let people decide, if they don't want to work, fine, but to keep people at home who want to work, not good

That's what I'm saying, he continues to say "keeping it closed will keep people safe, that saving lives are more important and people can come back from unemployment" (just a bunch of stuff he's hearing from the tv basically)

          lol for reals

I asked my friend why can't other places open up if target/walmart/etc can do social distance, he said because people need food, so then I said ok and how will people pay for food if they aren't working, and his response was "government", unbelievable.

You work as normal, office workers like me have to work from home but you still work the same amount of hours and are paid the same. I'm actually saving a lot of money with less travel.

You have been furloughed by your company. This means, you will be paid 80% of your salary as a bare minimum and it is up to your company to make up the remaining 20% if they want. The 80% will be paid by the government as a part of the furlough scheme. If you are furloughed you do not work but are still paid.

            I'm still working.
Thanks for sharing, glad you're still working

I also noticed you voted for keep it closed, could you expand on that

Please, do all you can to make sure he never votes.

My wife is a Nurse and even though we have a rental she could stay at, she came home at the end of the night. So I felt it was my social responsibility to stay home. I'm cool with it. My bills are paid and I don't report to a normal 9-5. I believe people should have the right to choose whether to stay at home or to go abroad. I've lived pay check to pay check and I could imagine the chaos this is unleashing in some households. Still some people are out here running around like the **** never existed. Hope it doesn't come around with a vengeance.

Open it up if people arent ignorant and willing to change. For example wear mask, wash your hands, stay 6 feet apart etc.

My vote was for the U.K. It's probably different for you guys in the States.

I think our numbers here are still pretty high. Around 500 deaths roughly each day. It's not at the peak of 800-900 anymore but that is because we have been in lockdown for around 5 weeks here. Hospitals are better equipped to deal with the issues, people are more informed too. My old company helped build a new hospital to focus on COVID19 cases and it hasn't actually got any patients lol.

The numbers have remained around 450-500 for around a week here. I think in two weeks it is going to get lower and then we should gradually open things up. If we open up businesses as normal, the cases will go back up again. I think we've spent 5 weeks in lockdown, two more weeks won't be HUGE. The government are also looking at opening things back up now, they have apparently contacting a lot of businesses about this, maybe to get their opinions about such a move.

I'm going to have to use public transport to get to work. There are going to dozens and dozens of ****** fkers on there. I personally want to continue to work from home for May and then do a phased return if needed sometime in June.
