Doubt about it. Size matters! But with a Flyweight and a Nikolay Valuev all sharing the same physiology, there IS a dufus cuttoff where the gains in mass, height and presumed strength and resilience become overtaken by losses in speed, stamina, coordination and explosiveness or "snap". But as the medium height and weight of the adult male edges up, all the boats rise and the dufus line rises with it. This creates an extra wrinkle for heavyweights alone when compating the old timers with the modern models.

Leon & Michael Spinks, Osvaldo Occasio, Chris Byrd, James Toney, Roy Jones Jr., Orlin Norris, Mike Tyson, Jeremy Williams, Herbie Hide, David Haye, Michael Moorer are a few that slipped into the top 10 or 15 in fairly recent times who were smallish or short. Usyk spend allot of his career slim, but he's at the lower end of the perfect size heavyweight.
Those guys have been on top for years, and Byrd and Haye were 210 pound heavies. Usyk is 6'3" with a 78 " reach and is a 220+ pound heavyweight.. Fighters tend to gain weight as they age. This is almost always the case.

Lewis, somewhat, with a glass jaw. The rest, Primo Carnera level of skill.....ie laughable. All heavyweights post Lewis are completed garbage, and bionic fuckhead posters like you who have a hammerlock on their limp nutsacks are absolute toxic oozing sewage level of posters. Dismissed, Cupcake.

@ " Starship Trooper ". I'm confused. Are your saying Rocky's size would not be an issue today because most of the new champions like Lewis, Kltischko, Klistchko and Fury suck?

How come haven't seen a guy Rocky's size as champion in the last 30+ years? Asking you for dialog, not a sop****ric insult to a person you never meet.

All of the top prospects these day, or most of them are " Super heavyweights " The best will be world champions. Get used to it. Or get a MEDIC! You know like the one from the over rated movie Starship Trooper

First off, you obviously need help with the concept of "dismissed". I'll demonstrate at the end of this post. Second, I never mentioned size, but, as expected, you turned out to be size whore who boils boxing down to who wins the tail of the tape: I stopped bothering to spit a thesis at bionic fuckheads like you. You don't have the brain power to comprehend anything more advanced than knuckle dragging ********** bullshit. Maybe if you rubbed you two braincells together long enough the light will come on, but I'm not waiting around for that unlikely prospect. Third, your grammar sucks, you illiterate worm. Learn how to construct a sentence in English before posting here. Fourth, my username has nothing to do with some lame ass movie: "Starship Trooper" is a song by the band Yes off their 1971 album "The Yes Album". Fifth, you needed help with the concept of "dismissed". Well, here it is: Welcome to ignore.

Tyson Fury the best pure boxer we've ever seen at Heavyweight ... all 6'10 inches 260 pounds of him... is garbage?

Your avatar is of a guy who struggled with Azumah Nelson and pat Cowdell... whose best win came against a man half his size. But you are going to call today's Heavyweights garbage?

I am still waiting for that post your promised.
Tyson Fury is far from the best pure boxer

Most of the guys who defeated Klitschko were shorter than him one guy was 5’11 ! And Lennox got KO’d by guys 6’1-6’2 if Marciano could beef up to 200 lb he would still be a problem for heavyweights today

Starship Trooper is harsh as hell, lol. Is seem that he's looking to "Spread his knowledge higher than the day". So..... What Tyson can reach and hurt, Marciamo can too. Tyson’s more explosive in combinations, somewhat better defensively and faster. Marciano has advantages in chin, patience, conditioning and the big advantage - mental toughness. Sure, size matters allot, but incrementally less as you go up the weight divisions- Absolutely. Height is often made into an advantage too. But standing bodies start off at the ground, insuring that there's going to be something there to hit - and hurt. Dismissal of Marciano outright was a mistake every single time he ever fought.
